Autonomous Haulage System (AHS)
Autonomous Haulage System (AHS)
Several mining companies have started adopting Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) to improve the efficiency and maintenance of mining operations.
Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) is a comprehensive mining management system, and autonomous vehicles are controlled centrally via a wireless network that integrates:
- Vehicle control units on board the vehicle
- Global positioning with high precision
- System to detect and avoid obstacles
Monitoring logic
The system has full monitoring logic that uses complex data fusion to control the trucks so that it can operate safely through a load, transport and dump cycle and enable integration with other mining vehicles. By converting machines to autonomous machines, we create a fleet for you as a customer that is controlled by one central controller. This controller monitors the system from a control room, and has constant dialogue with Pit patrols out in the autonomous area. To be able to use the autonomous system, a designated area is required where no manual production traffic mixes with the autonomous machines.
The task of the group patrols is to monitor production out in the field in dialogue with the central controller who controls the system. This monitoring is important as there are no human drivers in these machines. Controlling the system and staying in the area requires training to ensure safety. The technology automates transport operations and reduces the risk of damage to mining sites by minimizing the number of people required around mining equipment.
